David W. Binet is Deputy Chairman of Thomson Reuters. He is also President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Woodbridge, the Thomson family investment company. Prior to 2013, he held a number of senior positions at Woodbridge between 1999 and 2012, including Chief Operating Officer. David is a director of The Globe and Mail Inc., a Canadian media company and of a number of other companies in which Woodbridge is invested. David served as Chairman of the Thomson Reuters Foundation from October 1, 2009 through March 14, 2020. Prior to joining Woodbridge in 1999, he was a partner at a major law firm.
David has a law degree from McGill University, a BA from Queen’s University and a graduate degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
