Reuters, the global news and information Group, has sold its healthcare subsidiaries, Reuters Health Information (RHI) and Distal SA, to CEGEDIM SA. CEGEDIM, which is listed on the Paris Bourse, is a leading European supplier of healthcare systems and medical information services. The terms of the transaction were not material to Reuters.

Reuters will concentrate on providing the international healthcare community with medical news and related information through its New York-based subsidiary, Reuters Health Information Inc. Reuters will continue to invest in such services, as demonstrated by the recent acquisition of the French health news agency, APM.

Reuters and CEGEDIM have agreed to explore areas of mutual cooperation designed to offer services to the European healthcare sector.
